ImPACT Sports Concussion Management Program

Texas Sports Medicine Center. A Division of Tomball Regional Medical Center.ImPACT is a neuropsychological test that evaluates, documents, and measures various brain functions such as memory, processing speed, and reaction time.

Impact is beneficial to all athletes participating in high contact sports and prevents the cumulative effects of repeated concussions.

Program is most effective when a "baseline test" is taken prior to start of athletic season.

*Baseline test can be taken on the website for a nominal fee of $10.

Guidelines for Parents

The Texas Soccer Club and Texas Sports Medical Center recommends that all players U12 and older complete a baseline test. This will allow for a comparative test in the event that the player receives a concussion.

The parent should be present for the initial part of the testing to answer some basic questions and to read the information presented. However, the player should be alone and in a quiet setting, without distractions, when completing the test.
